Hereколи под наем's a sampling of the things I did while out East:

Picked Potatoes.
Helped hay.
Painted and fixed three birdhouses.
Visited Ina and Shirley MacKenzie in Pictou.
Drove around NS.  (Sorry I didn't visit some friends if you're reading this.  It was a family thing.)
Went beachcombing for driftwood, shells and cool rocks.
Went to Emily and Don's Wedding.
Spent time with family and friends.
Took a lot of pictures of the BEAUTIFUL Autumn leaves.

I am now back in Toronto feeling refreshed!  I hope to see everyone again soon.

Artificially Fragranced Products

I just read this article on CBSNews:  http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/07/25/health/webmd/main4295506.shtml

The article describes how many common household products emit substances that are considered hazardous or toxic.  The spokesperson for the Fragrance Materials Association of the United States says that people who are sensitive to these TOXINS should simply avoid them.  How are we supposed to avoid something like fabric softener that's coating everyone's clothes?  Its no different than smoking...Its not allowed inside, neither should the toxic components of these products.

It is quite obvious to me that the manufacturers of these products do not have our best interests in mind.  They simply want to market a product that will sell well.  Its time for us, as consumers, to STOP BUYING THESE PRODUCTS.   That mango scented air freshener or fabric softener you have doesn't have any mango in it, instead it has an array of chemicals that the people in the industry admit would not fit on the labels of their products if they were listed.

Use white vinegar or any of the many re-usable fabric softener solutions available.  Use a match to cover odours in your bathroom... or just your fan!  Use unscented laundry detergents.  The options are there.  Make use of them!
